Even though the Petit Verdot grape traditionally has been used to blend with other wines, it has spread to warmer climates and winemakers have realized it can make intensely bold, fruity-yet-floral, red wines that can and do easily stand on their own with plentiful color, tannin and floral aromas of violet.

When grown properly under the right conditions, the grapes develop into small, concentrated berries with high skin-to-juice ratio, creating a strong tannic structure.
