North Mountain Vineyard estate

Family, vineyard, and tradition

Our Story

More than four decades of estate-grown wine and Shenandoah Valley hospitality.

North Mountain

New Roots, Timeless Traditions

In 2025, North Mountain entered an exciting new chapter when it was purchased from the Foster family by Bob and Jill Edlich. After moving from New Jersey and New York to Virginia in 2012, they fell in love with the slower pace of life, the breathtaking Shenandoah Valley, and the close-knit community they now proudly call home.

Owning a vineyard had long been a dream, and in 2025 that dream became a reality. Today, North Mountain remains proudly family-owned and operated, with the entire family working together to continue the winery’s legacy while creating new traditions for generations to come.

Bob and Jill are passionate about preserving what makes North Mountain special while building a destination where guests can gather, celebrate, and enjoy exceptional Virginia wine.

Their daughter, Sophie, serves as the Tasting Room Manager, overseeing daily operations, marketing, events, and the overall guest experience. Whether you’re visiting for a tasting, live music, or a special event, she works to make every visit memorable.

Their son, Joseph, works alongside the assistant winemaker, learning the craft of winemaking and helping produce the wines that have become a hallmark of North Mountain.

Their son-in-law, Nick, manages the vineyard, caring for the vines throughout every season to ensure each harvest begins with the highest-quality fruit.

Together, the family is committed to honoring the rich history established by the Foster family while embracing an exciting future for North Mountain Vineyard & Winery.

Whether you’re stopping by for a tasting, enjoying live music on the patio, attending one of our events, or simply taking in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley views, we invite you to slow down, share a bottle, and become part of our story.

From our family to yours, welcome to North Mountain Vineyard & Winery.
