Our wine of the month for January is Petit Verdot. The words Petit Verdot roughly translate to "little green one" in French. Petit Verdot is a red grape native to the Bordeaux region of France and is most famous for being one of the accepted grapes allowed in Bordeaux red wine.
At North Mountain, we are serving 2 vintages of our Petit Verdot. Both are 100% Petit Verdot. The 2019 has smooth tannins, and vanilla undertones with a zestier finish. This is one that can lay down for several more years. The 2017 is a much softer version with lower tannins. Both were aged 10 months in French Oak.
