Our Family Story
A new chapter in more than four decades of Shenandoah Valley winemaking.
For many years, the Edlich family dreamed of building something rooted in family, tradition, and the joy of working the land. After raising a blended family of seven children in New Jersey, they found a new home in Virginia.
In 2025, the Edlichs became the third family to own North Mountain Vineyard & Winery, an estate established in 1982. The rolling vines, mountain views, and deep roots in Virginia winemaking felt like home from their first visit.
Seven children and seven grandchildren inspire this family-run winery. Members of the family contribute across North Mountain, from welcoming guests to caring for the vineyard and planning its future.
The family is honored to continue the traditions begun here more than four decades ago, with a commitment to wines that reflect the character of the valley and to caring for the vineyard entrusted to them.
Their hope is simple: that North Mountain remains a place where guests can enjoy estate wine, the vineyard, and time together.
