We’re a family-owned and operated winery, and when we say family-run, we really mean it. You’ll find our family everywhere. In the vineyard, helping make the wine, behind the tasting room bar, planning events, working around the property and on the weekends, you’ll probably spot our kids and grandkids running through the vines.
Our family originally came to Virginia from New Jersey in 2012, looking for a little more space and a slower way of life. We fell in love with the Shenandoah Valley, and years later, North Mountain became part of our family’s story.
One thing we’re especially proud of is being an estate-grown winery. From the first bud in the spring to harvest, crush, fermentation and eventually the bottle, our wines begin right here at North Mountain. The grapes growing throughout our vineyard are the heart of what we do, and being able to take them from vine to wine right here on the property is something that means a lot to our family.
Taking over an established vineyard has meant learning, growing, making changes and honoring everything that came before us while putting our own family’s heart into its future.
More than anything, we want North Mountain to feel like a place where you can simply come as you are. Bring your family, meet your friends, sit for a while, listen to some music, enjoy the mountain views and have a glass of Virginia wine.
