Before North Mountain became part of our family’s story, it was part of Krista’s.
She poured years of her life, her heart, and her hard work into this place. She walked these grounds, cared for these vines, welcomed people through these doors, and helped create countless memories here. So much of the North Mountain that we fell in love with carries pieces of her story.
When our family purchased the winery from Krista and the Foster family, she handed us far more than the keys to a business. She entrusted us with something deeply personal. A place that had been loved, nurtured, and called home for many years.
That is something we will never take lightly.
There is something especially difficult about knowing that someone who was such a meaningful part of this property’s history is no longer here. But there is also something beautiful in knowing that her presence will never truly leave it.
It is here in the vines that continue to grow.
It is in the tasting room where people still gather, laugh, celebrate, and raise a glass.
It is in the memories of everyone who knew North Mountain during the years she cared for it.
And it will remain part of the story we continue to tell.
We hope Krista knew how grateful we are that she trusted our family to carry North Mountain forward. We hope she knew that we understood just how special this place was to her, because it has become incredibly special to us, too.
As we continue caring for this land and building the future of North Mountain, we will always remember the hands and hearts that cared for it before ours.
To Krista’s family and everyone who loved her, our deepest condolences are with you. We are holding you especially close during this unimaginable time.
Krista, thank you for the years you gave to this place.
Thank you for the memories you left within it.
And thank you for trusting us with a piece of your story.
With love,
The North Mountain Vineyard & Winery Family
